There With You

A knight met a maiden on a late night stroll
And little did he know it then but her heart he stole
They walked round the lake and before the night was through
She looked him in the eyes and said 'I don't want to leave you'
And he said,

'You'll never leave me. You're here in my soul

The days passed and they fell in love and were soon to wed
But war began and he had to go fight for his King instead
The day he was due to leave he told her 'I don't want to go'
As she held him in her arms she told him what he head to know
And she sang,

The days turned into months and the seasons did change
And the more that she thought of him she got a feeling quite strange
The army stopped in for supplies before they marched off again
He saw her before he left and gave his oath in front of his men
And he swore,

She waited for his return but knew something wasn't right
When she got word of his death she thought back to that night
She shed tears and thought of him and remembered his words
She took a walk out in the morn and sang louder than the birds
And she cried,

She never forgot him and remembered his touch
But at times her feelings became far too much
One day she spoke of how she missed him and gently whispered his name
She heard the wind carry his voice and his vow was the same
And he breathed,
